Vic Ewen Industries have been specialist engineers, manufacturers and suppliers to the baked foods industry since 1926. We are a family owned company with a long and distinguished record, and we pride ourselves on the depth of knowledge and experience that makes us true specialists in our field. We have exported extensively since 1946 and our equipment is now in use in 23 countries. Vic Ewen & Staff 1939 The company was formed in 1926 by Scottish immigrant Vic Ewen, who saw the need for an engineering firm in the baking and food industry. Vic Ewens became the first manufacturer of mechanical ovens in Australia, with the first production unit being a biscuit oven installed at Hardman’s Biscuits in 1939 (see Photo above). Vic Ewens have been innovators in bakery equipment design since day one, with many now commonplace processes, such as automatic lidding in swing tray ovens, being first employed in our designs. Over the years, changing consumer tastes and advances in engineering technology have resulted in Vic Ewens branching out into the areas of Arabic and pita bread production, breakfast cereals, animal feeds, pasta and pastry, pretzels and snack foods and fruit and vegetable drying. Many new product introductions have been handled by Vic Ewen Industries, with the numerous and varied start-up problems being solved by our experience and expertise.
